Nigeria is stepping firmly into the global digital spotlight with the successful hosting of the inaugural GITEX Nigeria 2025, a convergence of government leaders, global technology enterprises, startups, and investors. From September 1–4 across Abuja and Lagos, the event positioned Nigeria as a pivotal hub in Africa’s drive towards a US$1 trillion digital economy by 2030.

Held under the patronage of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, the event was supported by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy in collaboration with NITDA, endorsed by the Lagos State Government, and organised by KAOUN International, the global organiser of GITEX events.
Opening in Abuja, the Government Leadership & AI Summit set the tone with a focus on how Nigeria can evolve from being a consumer of AI technologies to a net producer of solutions and talent.

The programme then transitioned to Lagos, where the GITEX Nigeria Tech Expo & Future Economy Conference at the Eko Hotel Convention Centre and the Startup Festival at Landmark Centre attracted thousands of founders, investors, and decision-makers.
The Startup Festival hosted West Africa’s largest investor meetings, including the Supernova Challenge pitch competition, giving startups an international platform and direct access to venture funding.
